About Me
My Background
As a visual artist, I am captivated by the way things look. In everything I see I am interested in the way abstract properties interact to produce the visual experience and am drawn by a desire to capture that visual experience with paint. As a result, my work lives on a line between representation and abstraction.
My Medium
I am mainly a mixed media artist. I like works that have texture and structure and are off the wall. But I am first a painter. I work in Acrylics and Oils for the most part but like other media as well.
My Inspiration
One of my favorite artists is Anselm Kiefer. I love the scale of his work, the depth and the texture but I'm less moved by his focus on German mysticism. I'll drive many miles to see one of his paintings and if I'm anywhere close to one I have to stop in and visit it like an old friend.
